Colin Cross
Creative Movement Assistant | Jolt Choreographic Assistant
Colin joined the Jolt team in 2022, starting as a volunteer with the Creative Movement class.
Colin graduated from the University of Otago with degrees in fine arts and graphic design, where he also did a minor in dance studies. Here he developed a passion for physical expression and went on to study circus arts at the Christchurch polytechnic. In 2010 he founded the “Flying Kiwi Circus”, a charity which provided fun, confidence boosting programs teaching circus skills at Christchurch schools and community groups. Unfortunately the circus was forced to close its doors shortly after the earthquake. Colin then joined the Clown Doctors of New Zealand, bringing much needed distraction and entertainment to hospitals and rest homes. Colin is currently working in early childhood education as a teacher aide, assisting with children who have specific needs whilst he completes his Diploma of Teaching.
